My son and daughter-in-law had recommended Ellen Koppel, from Escape 2 Anywhere, after experiencing a wonderful trip abroad that Ellen had planned. They had an incredible time, and only had glowing things to say about Ellen, and how helpful she was. We knew we had to use Ellen when we started planning a trip, to see our granddaughter who was studying abroad in Madrid. Ellen listened to what we were looking to explore in Europe which included Madrid, Barcelona and the Puglia region of Italy. Our trip included wonderful hotels, and fantastic tours which we loved – especially our experience of going to a dairy farm and making our own mozzarella, and burrata cheese from the fresh milk from the cows that were roaming the farm that we were at. Every day we would wake up, and be excited about what the day was going to hold for us – whether it was a cooking class, visiting the Trullies, exploring caves and on and on. We truly felt we were completely immersed in the countries and cultures we were visiting.
Soon after returning from our Spain and Italy trip, my husband and I decided that I should take my two granddaughters to Paris, which was to be their first trip to Europe. Giving Ellen, relatively short notice, she came up with a “girlie” trip that was amazing. Besides the highlights of Paris, we made macaroons, had a vintage car ride of Paris, made our own perfume scent which we got to take home, did an Emily in Paris tour (which was so much fun), did a Fashion tour, which really enlightened us about Dior and Chanel, and other top designers,. We had the best time!!!!!
The only “bump in the road” that we experienced during our trip to Paris, was the cancellation of our return flight to the United States, I knew nothing about the cancellation of the flight until I woke up to get ready for our departure, and I saw a text from Ellen that had been sent during the night informing me of the status of the flight, and how she had managed to get us on a later flight. Traveling alone with two young girls, and feeling totally responsible, I was needless to say upset. Thank goodness for Ellen, who realized the situation we were in, and took complete charge and got us on the later flight. The most important part of this equation was that Ellen had not booked the flights for us, Ellen really didn’t have to do anything about the flights since the responsibility was really ours, but she (thank goodness) chose to handle it. I will be forever thankful for her for doing this!!! I think think really exemplifies the type of person Ellen is. She goes out of her way to take care of everything, and to make sure that her clients have the best time!
I am looking forward to having Ellen plan many other trips for my husband and I, and our families. I thank her for all she has done to make our trips so memorable.
